goodbye 2011

OK, ok I know we're soo over Christmas and it feels like ancient history but I'd like to share a few images before I press on with 2012 and all the good things it will (hopefully) bring.

I just love this guy taking part in the Boxing Day swim. It was such a beautiful day, the sun was shining and so many people took part.

Me, you say? Well, maybe next year. Actually, it'll be this year won't it!

Happy New Year to all!

christmas is coming

As part of a Folksy competition I've put together some of my favourite items around the theme of 'Christmas is Coming'. I love natural materials and Nordic influences and there are plenty of these items to be found on Folksy by many talented designers and makers and all of the highest quality.

Enjoy!

gorgeous decorations

This fairy sits on top of my tree every year and I love her for more than one reason. Apart from just being soo gorgeous, she is special to me because my Grandma made the clothes, wings and halo that she wears and dressed her up to be sold at a Scout's Christmas Fayre when I was about 8 yrs old. I loved her so much that my other Grandma (Nanny) bought her for me.

And the decorations below were an absolute bargain from the Red Cross shop. £1.45 for the lot!

folksy christmas

This post is especially for my friend in England (you know who you are) who will be almost beside herself that Christmas is just around the corner and has probably been doing a countdown since June. If not before.

Yes friend, it is well and truly the season to light the fire, put your fluffy socks on and curl up with a hot chocolate and a mince pie. So this little round-up of all things festive is especially for you.

These are some of my favourite Folksy picks, although there were many more...

Top to bottom: Lace Heart hangers by Prince Design UK, Laptop Cover by TrinketKnits, Wooden Bunny hanger by Widget and Friends, Scandinavian and Vintage inspired decorations by Betsy Jarvis, Wooden decorations by Me and Ma
